The location was brilliant. Close to hippodrome and shopping centre but still quietly out of the hustle and bustle of noise. Lots of different culture. We slept well, bed very comfortable. Drinks at bar reasonably priced. Amazing breakfast! Lots to choose from. Full english breakfast, cereal, yogurts with fruit, make your own pancakes and pastries. Also a full choice of hot and cold drinks. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the car park was right next door. Large vehicles may struggle with space sizes, but it is possible to park safely. Enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was good. The scrambled egg was a problem. We found out later that we could order other eggs. Veronica was very helpful. Listened, acted on feedback and looked after us in a way that we appreciated very much. Also Lewis on reception was a credit. When he had to deal with the problem of no teabags in the hotel, dealt very well and reacted in a way that showed he understood the principle of customer service. The bar staff were very helpful too. When we accidentally silt a drink they replaced it free of charge which was a lovely gesture.

Loved the location. Rooms were small for 2 single beds, but it was alright. Staff was nice. Went down to the front desk to ask for a hairdryer on day one, since there was none in the room. They said they would send it up to the room. They never did. Hours later, went down again and asked. They said they would send it up. I did not want to risk not getting it, and said I would wait at the front desk this time. They apologized, gave me the hairdryer and a welcome voucher for 2. That is how I went from :( to :D. Amazing service!

The location and age of the hotel and surroundings were fantastic. And for it to be so close to the city centre too! We only stayed for 1 night but the staff we encountered were lovely. We enjoyed a king suite which was fantastic and despite the chilly windows in January we were cosy. The radiators kept us warm and the bathroom had good hot water. The bathroom was lovely and the broken basin didn't cause us any bother. I'd love to stay here again for longer next time, and would ask for the same room.

room was great - plenty of room, and peaceful. Quirky use of furniture. it had a fridge, stocked with some bottles of water, abd with space to store your snacks if you need to. wardrobe had towelling robes and slippers. There is also an iron, ironing board, and hair dryer as standard. Bathroom was lush, with a huge walk in shower. The hotel has it's own secure carpark, accessed up a small cobbled street at the side of the hotel. You can book your parking space in advance using 'Your Parking Space'.
